Writer. Producer. Educator
Ashley N. Flores is a creative producer and writer with a passion for projects that "hide the broccoli in the popcorn," combining entertainment with impactful messages. With over a decade of experience in producing and education, Ashley has produced a wide range of content, from short films and educational series to branded content. Her personal experiences with the justice system, as well as her South Texas upbringing, have deeply influenced her storytelling perspective.

In 2021, Ashley was honored as a Producers Guild of America (PGA) Create Fellow. During this program, the short film she co-wrote and produced, Esmeralda received a $50K Google grant and was executive produced by Powderkeg, Paul Feig's digital content company. Esmeralda and her previous short film she produced, For Rosa—which premiered on HBO Max and received multiple awards—have both earned critical acclaim for their storytelling and social impact. For Rosa was inspired by the true events of the 1970s sterilization of Mexican women and has been highlighted by platforms like HipLatina and Refinery29.

Ashley was a Segment Producer for the Amazon Kids+ series Blippi’s Treehouse, where she virtually scouted locations, managed logistics, and booked and coordinated talent for 16 episodes. Her more recent narrative work includes producing Launch Fever, a Alfred P. Sloan Foundation-funded short film that is set to premiere at the LA Shorts Film Festival, recently won four Telly Awards, Including Gold for the People’s Telly, and was nominated for the 38th Annual Imagen Awards. She has worked for top production companies like Hello Sunshine, Nickelodeon, and Devon Franklin Entertainment.

Her producing work dates back to 2013 when, as the former co-owner of Texas Made Productions, Ashley oversaw and collaborated on all aspects of production, from concept to completion. During this time, she produced branded stories for notable clients such as the American Heart Association, the Texas Dental Association, and Lexus of Austin.

Beyond her production work, Ashley is deeply involved in education. She plays a key role in Film Independent Artist Development Fiction programs, where she oversees the selection process for the fiction Filmmaker Labs as well as Sloan Foundation grants programs and fellowship initiatives. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts' prestigious Peter Stark Producing Program. With over a decade of experience in education and consulting, Ashley aims to influence educational programs, often by integrating storytelling, and technology into curriculum and instructional design.

Ashley holds an M.F.A. from USC's Peter Stark Producing Program, an M.Ed., and a BFA from Texas State University. She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA, and hopes to continue making a mark in both the entertainment industry and education.
